FAQ
Q: Did Didie ever smoke?
A: Never
Q: Did she take diet pills?
A: Never
Q: How did she get this?
A: It’s idiopathic which is the doctors fancy way of saying they really have no idea. They suspect it’s from the hole in her heart.
Visit St. Joseph’s Hospital for more info on the Pulmonary Hypertension.
Q: What will donations be used for?
A: The money you donate will offset the cost for medications after the transplant. Some will be used for other transplant related costs, like medical bills that insurance doesn’t cover and the apartment that Didie will recover in. She is required to stay in another city for three to four months after the hospital stay for daily follow up visits.
Q: What happens to the money if the transplant doesn’t happen?
A: The money will still be used for her medical needs for the remainder of her life.
Q: How do I know this isn’t a scam?
A: Honestly, you don’t. But we are good, honest people with the sole goal of helping Didie live a long, productive life.
We have established a business bank account that is separate from our personal funds. It is only used for transplant expenses. We also have a letter from her Pulmonologist that states her disease, her failing health and the need for fundraising. At some point, no matter who you’re donating to, there has to be a leap of faith, so please, take a jump! Still not convinced? I can show you a picture of the hole in her heart!
Q: I can only give a couple of bucks, will that even make a difference?
A: Absolutely! It all adds up and it’s emotionally and spiritually uplifting for everyone involved.
Q: I can’t donate now, but I want to help, what can I do?
A: We would love you to pass the website on to everyone you know. Prayers and well wishes go a long way, too.
