Breathless in the Desert – No More!

Where’d Ya Find Me?

card

So you found our card somewhere around town. What now?

Take a look around, leave us a comment and tell us two things: where you found your card and what number it is.

When you’re done with your card, leave it for someone else to find. Check back regularly to see where your card has been!

Interested in helping pass out the cards?

They really are fun to pass around, leave in strange places and then rrrrrace  back to the site to see if anyone found them. Our goal is to get them across the United States…One person from every state to find one, log on to the site and donate.  That would be a great achievement and so uplifting for everyone involved…and let’s not forget, it will raise some much needed funds.

So how do get your hands on these babies? Send a request to teamdidie@gmail.com . Leave us your name and address and then watch for them in the mail. Thanks for participating! You all have been super!

Side Note- To leave a comment, WordPress requires that you leave a name and an email address. Feel free to use an alias. We just want to know that our cards are getting out there and people are finding them. If you choose to use your real name and address, we won’t use it for anything else.

Thanks for visiting and enjoy the site!

  10. Hi Clark,
Thanks for stopping by. Hope you’ll pass your card on for others to find. Maybe they’ll leave a comment too! We enjoy tracking the cards. Gives us real satisfaction when we get comments & donations off of them. Let’s us know our plan is working. We appreciate all the prayers. They are every bit as valuable as money. So keep ‘em coming. Tell all your friends about the website too. Exposure is key for us. I hope you’ll keep checking back as well. A lot of thoughts to share this week. Thanks again and Great GBL :)

  83. Ah, yes, the time is getting closer. Wonderful, but just a wee bit scary. It will all click into place and be just fine. It’s not nearly as scary as you’d think. Actually, you get relaxed down and settle into a routine and it’s not bad at all. It’ Rewarding.
So happy to see that time coming soon.
    Congratulations to you all
    Love,

Congratulations on getting rid of your oxygen. That’s wonderful. Did you ever think this day would come. It is one of Alan’s fondest memories.

Sherrie: When the maid shows up at your house, would you send her over here when she’s done?
    Thanks

  98. It is so wonderful having Didie back at rehab. She looks fantastic. She does her exercises and isn’t even short of breath. How amazing is this? It’s wonderful to see “aunt Carol” and Sherie. We are able to sit and talk and share our stories. But the stories we share now are stories of happiness, success. Stories of Didie going shopping, cooking, having fun. The old stories of not being able to breathe or barely being able to walk to the car are just a distant memory. There’s such joy in the room. We’re hoping and praying that all the others that need a lung transplant will be blessed with this gift.
God bless all you donors out there.
    Love,
    Karen & Alan

  99. We can’t believe it’s been over a month since we’ve left a comment here. Time does fly. I just read Sherrie’s posting written on Christmas day and I am having trouble seeing this page through my tears. Every wonderful little thing that Didie is able to do now just warms our hearts.
We saw her today at exercise class and she looked fantastic and did her exercises without much effort at all. What a woman! What a miracle. We all are truly blessed.
WE love you Didie, Sherrie, Carol and your entire family.

  100. Sherri:

Loved your Jan. 30th posting. I knew exactly why you always said, “we”. You have been there through every turn in the road. I don’t know of any transplant patient that could get through it without help. Without the other half of “we”. It is your experience too. Just as Alan’s was mine. We experienced it all together. What a ride, huh?
Hang in there. It only gets better.
    Love you all

  101. Didie & Family:
Congratulations to you all on your one year “anniversary” of your transplant. We know what a wonderful feeling it is to have come so far. The year has gone fast, hasn’t it?

We’re thinking of you today, as we so often do, but this day is indeed special.

    God bless you all.
    All our love,
    Karen & Alan
